To many people EU citizens have become a faceless mass, a development facilitated by the hate-filled rhetoric we have seen on far too many a newspaper front pages for far too long. But EU citizens are not a faceless mass. This is who they are. Neighbours, colleagues, friends and family. All of them at home in the UK. Many, like Christine, for decades.

To ask all of them, 3.6 million people, to apply to stay – force them to apply so they can remain your neighbours, colleagues, friends and family – is wrong. And it is not easy to come to terms with. That is why so many are already not fine.

You can also watch some EU citizens tell their story, and why Brexit is personal to them, at Final Say For All Beehive events. Please check them out – and make sure to also have a look at the many other #BrexitIsPersonal stories shared at the Beehives.
